The present study demonstrates the research performance of National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Haryana, India for the last 25 years period (2000 – 2024), focusing on publication growth, co-authorships, collaboration linkages, focus areas and its standing in the Indian neuroscience community. The Web of Science citation database were consulted to retrieve relevant records. A total of 778 papers were published with 37.8 average citations per paper. Over the time period, a linear trend of publications growth was observed having 10.35% annual growth and 34.70% international collaboration. Among source journals, PLOS One, Journal of Neurochemistry and Scientific Reports were the most prolific. Moreover, AIIMS New Delhi, IISc Bengaluru and NIMHANS Bengaluru were the leading collaborating partners whereas the USA, Australia, England and France were the leading collaborating countries. Comparing with the established Indian institutions in neuroscience, the quantity of research output of NBRC was far behind but in case of impact and international linkages, NBRC topped the list. Hope the present study will be helpful to administrators and policy makers in identifying NBRC’s research trend, potential and contribution in neurosciences domain.
