The current study is based on the scientometric examination of the Indian research productivity in clinical psychology. The data comprises 791 publications extracted utilizing the Web of Science covering the study period 1989-2021. The chronological distribution, forms of publications, top-ranked journals, top-cited articles, subject wise distribution, and the authorship pattern along with RGR, DC, Dt, CC, CI, etc. has been examined. The findings reveal the fluctuating Growth trend of publications, declining RGR (from 0.69 to 0.1), and increasing Dt (from 1.00 to 6.93) and the dominance of shared authorship of more than three authors (42.23%). The values of DC and CC have shown fluctuations, and CI increased from 4.00 to 5.60. This indicates an increased collaboration trend among the researchers, further highlighted by increasing CAI for more than three authors. The maximum publications i.e., 537 (67.89%) are published as journal articles. The top-most subject is Psychiatry with 244 publications whereas, the highest Linear correlation coefficient is observed between ‘Pediatrics and Geriatrics’ & ‘Gerontology’ i.e., 0.99. Andrade, C. (112 publications, 14.15%, 1300 citations) is the most productive and most cited author. The ‘Journal of Clinical Psychiatry’ is the most productive and most cited with (147 publications, 18.58%, 2331 citations). ‘NIMHANS’, Bangalore is at the top with 176 publications, and USA is the leading contributor to India’s clinical psychology research, with 158 publications.
