Understanding and Moderating the Uses of Electronic Resources among the Medical Practitioners - A Pilot Study.

This study explores the uses of e-resources among medical practitioners in the environment of ever-mounting online electronic resources. The library plays the most crucial role in health service. The objective is to study the access, purposes, and extent of exploitation of electronic resources among the medical practitioners of Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore. This study's design was descriptive survey method and used questionnaire as a research instrument. Five objectives and five research questions guide this study. The sample respondents chosen for study consists of Professor, Associate Professor, etc. Fifty-five questionnaires were circulated and responses returned 45. The users are aware of various services of library. Besides, the library administration should arrange training programs whenever new user groups arrive to make effective use of library services. This investigation expected that this study would help CMCH Library administrators develop a more comprehensive understanding of medical practitioners' electronic information needs and barriers.
