Users’ Satisfaction with Library Information Resources, Services, and Facilities: A Case Study of Stella Maris College, Chennai

Abstract

This study investigated the library’s performance by measuring the users’ satisfaction with (a) library resources (b) services and (c) facilities provided by Stella Maris College Library, Chennai. The investigator distributed 900 online questionnaires through Google Forms out of which 855 questionnaires were received back. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, tables, and charts. The study results indicated that users were satisfied with the library’s resources, services, and facilities. The major purpose of the user’s visit to the Library was to borrow books (62.2%) and also to get help for their assignments (53.8%) and study at peace (33.21%). The outcomes of the study will assist the College library to formulate more effective strategies to ensure better delivery of quality services to the users to enhance their satisfaction, thereby attracting more users.
