Abstract

The study evaluates the research output of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) literature for a period of 60 years from 1963-2022. The data has been extracted from Scopus database which is one of the most prominent abstract and citation databases of peer-reviewed literature. A slow but fluctuating growth in the literature is observed in the initial years, but there is a sharp increase in the productivity in the last 7 years i.e., from 2016-22 contributing more than 50% (55.24%) of total publications. The average value of Degree of Collaboration (DC) i.e., 0.756 indicates the tendency towards collaborative research, which is also evident from the dominance of three authored publications (1077) followed by two authored (974) and four authored (876) publications. Indian journals are also found predominant in this field while making a ranked list of top 15 most productive journals, out of which 14 are of Indian origin. The most productive journal is ‘Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences’ with 212 publications followed by Pestology and Plant Archives with contribution of 211 and 116 publications respectively. The most occurred Authors’ Keywords are Okra, Yield, Abelmoschus Esculentus with 458, 171 and 140 number of occurrences respectively.
