The purpose of this study was to ascertain how frequently and how well-known reference management software was utilized by faculty members at KLEs degree-granting institutions in Karnataka. Information from faculty members at 15-degree colleges was gathered through online surveys. The questionnaires were distributed via private Mail and several WhatsApp groups and Facebook. After waiting three months, finally got 104 responses. According to the study, among faculty members at KLEs degree institutions in Karnataka, the top five RMSs are Reference Manager (23), EndNote (20), Zotero (13), Mendeley (11) and Bibtex (10) in that order. Finally received 104 responses after three months of waiting. RMS is used by more male (68%) faculty members than female faculty members (29%). The use of RMSs has increased recently because of the time savings they provide over manual references. The parent institutions should provide the necessary training to the faculty members
