USE OF PUBLIC LIBRARY RESOURCES AND SERVICES IN A MULTICULTURAL SOCIETY: A STUDY

In this study, an attempt has been made to study the user’s perspective on public library multicultural resources and services and its role in maintaining the social harmony. To conduct the study, a total of 100 questionnaires were distributed among the multicultural users of the City Central Library, Belagavi using simple random sampling method. In the distributed 100 questionnaires 93 were received back with response rate of 93%. Results of the study revealed that, majority of the respondents are satisfied with resources i.e. 89.24% and services i.e. 95.7% of CCL belagavi. The study also provide some important suggestions to the authorities of the City Central Library as well as for users for further improvements.
