According to Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the public library offers free library and information services to all citizens, regardless of their socioeconomic status, level of education, or preference for rural or metropolitan areas. Due to the untiring efforts of the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) trust, a state-of-the-art public library was established at Shirpur, Maharashtra state, in the name of SVKM’s Ketkiben Mukeshbhai Patel central library. The primary goal of this library is to serve the people of Shirpur and nearby small towns by offering high-quality educational resources. This would aid rural youngsters in preparing for competitive exams such as the UPSC, MPSC, NEET, CET, JEE, etc. This paper mainly focuses on best practices adopted and to be adopted in the SVKM’s Ketkiben Mukeshbhai Patel Central Library, Shirpur, their importance, and how they benefit library patrons.
